Scholarship Name: Transgender Scholarship and Education Legacy Fund Scholarship
Description: The Transgender Scholarships and Education Legacy Fund, and collaborative effort of the International Foundation for Gender Education, is looking for the next generation of change-makers in the LGBT community. They offer scholarships to active young students who are getting an education in the caring professions to change the public perception of transgender people (this includes combating transphobia and increasing awareness of the transgender community) . The scholarship requires that students be out and proud at their educational institution, and are particularly looking for scholarship recipients to be committed activists. In addition to general awards, the Fund also awards a number of location and field-specific scholarships.

Gay and Lesbian Armenian Society

Scholarship Name: GALAS Scholarship
Description: In an effort to promote the recognition and acceptance of the Armenian Gay and Lesbian community, the Gay and Lesbian Armenian Society (GALAS) has made an annual scholarship of $1,000 available to students in the greater Los Angeles area. To qualify, students must be actively participating in LGBT groups and events at their schools of in their communities. Students must also be committed to pursuing their studies in California.
