Who Can Apply:
- Applicants must be planning to enroll in an accredited United States college or University in the Spring 2019 semester.
- Incoming and existing law students enrolled in the Spring 2019 semester (1L, 2L, 3L) are eligible to participate.
Submission: To participate in the contest, applicants should write a 600-word essay answering the following question:
Explain why correcting the legislative drafting mistake, also known as “Scrivener’s Error” is a difficult process. How would you change Scrivener’s Error to more of a streamlined process? Would you propose statues or laws to identify the error(s) in order to reduce misinterpretation? Provide previous evidence showcasing the strict processes of correcting these so-called errors.
