Who Can Apply:
- Alberta Bean was a beloved grandmother who worked hard to provide the very best for her kids, making sure they had more than her, despite a difficult childhood and only an eighth-grade education. Alberta moved to St. Louis, Missouri as a teenager after both of her parents passed.
- For many students who come from families without college experience, obtaining a higher education degree can feel impossible. Without family funding or encouragement, first-generation students need to have faith in their dreams and demonstrate significant resilience to succeed and complete their education.
- This scholarship aims to honor the life of Alberta Bean by supporting students who are the first in their families to pursue college degrees.
- Any first-generation high school senior or undergraduate student from the state of Missouri with at least a 3.0 GPA may apply for this scholarship opportunity.
