Betty L. Shults Scholarship (Deadline: January 31, 2019)

Who Can Apply: Current or former Girl Scouts that are senior with a 2.5 or higher GPA planning to attend an accredited college or university may apply for this scholarship. Student may be a senior at a charter, private, or CCSD Nevada high school and must have earned their Gold or Silver Award. Preference will be given to students that will be attending a Nevada college or university. One scholarship in the amount of $4,000 ($1,000/year) will be offered.

Submission: Essay (450-500 words) Please describe how your participation in the Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada shaped or influenced your college and career goals. Be as specific as possible. For instance, reference what aspects of the Girl Scouts program were most meaningful to you and why; what leadership skills you acquired and how you hope to use these in pursuing your college degree; and if your Girl Scouts involvement prepared you for your chosen career and college process, describe how.

Deadline: January 31, 2019

Amount: $1,000 – Renewable
