Who Can Apply:
- Black Girls Go Global is on a mission to empower and inspire the next generation of Black women in S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics).
- With women, especially women of color, remaining underrepresented in these fields, it can be difficult for girls to pursue them. A lack of female mentors and peers can make S.T.E.A.M.-focused academic and extracurricular spaces feel unwelcoming or intimidating, discouraging passionate young students from going after their goals and reaching their full potential.
- This scholarship seeks to support and uplift Black girls who demonstrate academic promise, leadership potential, and financial need as they pursue education and career pathways in S.T.E.A.M.
- Any female Black or African American high school senior who will attend community college, university, or trade school to study a S.T.E.A.M. field may apply for this scholarship opportunity if they are from a low-income background and have a 3.2 GPA or higher. Applicants must be committed to academic growth, leadership, or community involvement.
Submission:
- To apply, make a video (2 minutes or less) telling us about your academic and professional goals, what you have already accomplished in S.T.E.A.M., your financial need, and how you hope to give back to or help others. Submit a link as a public YouTube link or a Google Drive link. Settings should be set to “public” or “anyone with the link can view.” If we can’t access your video, your application won’t be considered.
