Captain Bill Winn Alumni Scholarship (Deadline: August 22, 2015)

Who Can Apply: The scholarship was established in 1993 by the Georgia Southern University Alumni Association to honor and memorialize Captain Bill Winn. Captain Winn was a Georgia Teachers College (1940) alumnus and longtime member of the Association?s Board of Directors. He was named by the Association as Alumnus of the Year in 1969. He served the Association as president in 1970, 1981, and 1983. The applicants for the Captain Bill Winn Alumni Scholarship must be the son, daughter, stepson, stepdaughter or legal dependant of a graduate of Georgia Southern (or any of the school?s previous names). The recipient must be a senior enrolled full time at the time the award is given and must have spent his/her entire junior year at GSU. Academic record, demonstrated talents, personal character, relevant extra-curricular activities and motivating interests will be considered.

Submission: Please provide two letters of reference as to your leadership participation and character. The reference will receive an email requesting submission but it is up to you to follow up with your reference to ensure your references submit their letters as requested.
