Daniel Davenport Memorial Scholarship (Deadline: March 1, 2018)

Who Can Apply: Available to graduating seniors of White Plains High School. Applicants are eligible to apply for the scholarship without regard to race, religion, gender, national origin or disability.  Priority will be given to seniors with; (1) a grade point average of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale; (2) a minimum of two years of participation in any varsity sport; (3) a demonstrated financial need; (4) an essay as outlined below; and, (5) two letters of recommendation attesting to the student’s good character in both school and society.

Submission: An essay is required with the application. The applicant is asked to describe how participation in the White Plains High School athletic program has helped him/her develop leadership skills. The applicant should conclude the statement with the main reason why the committee should award him/her the scholarship.
