Who Can Apply: The Diana T.Y. Chung and Henry W.S. Chung Memorial Scholarship is awarded each fall to one incoming (new) and one current international student at SF State. The amount of each award will vary from year-to-year, but will be no less than $500.00 per student. The scholarship is not renewable and is awarded in contingent upon admission and verification of full-time enrollment at SF State. Scholarship recipients will be chosen on the basis of academic merit and financial need with higher consideration given to academic merit. Recipients must be enrolled in a full course of study at SF State (12 units for undergraduates; 8 units for graduates).
1) Open to all matriculated (degree seeking) F-1 & J-1 international students at the undergraduate and graduate levels of study.
2) Both prospective and continuing international students are eligible to apply.
3) The awards will be based on both merit and need with higher consideration given to academic merit.
4) Scholarships are granted only once and are non-renewable, and awarded contingent upon admission and verification of full-time enrollment at SF State.
Submission:
- Please submit two recommendation letters on official letterhead stationary, signed and in English from teachers or counselors who can comment on your ability to succeed academically and socially at SF State. Please upload recommendation letter #1.

- Please submit unofficial copies of all transcripts/mark sheets of university-level coursework completed (including coursework completed at SF State) showing courses taken, grades received, diplomas earned. Please scan all of your academic transcripts into your computer and upload them in a single document.
- Personal Statement: Please provide your responses to the following 4 questions. We recommend that you type your Personal Statement in MS Word first so that you may check the total word count, spelling, grammar, etc. You can then copy and paste your essay into your online application. You Personal Statement should be between a total of 750 words (minimum) and 1500 words (maximum) for all 4 questions combined. Please see the “Help Text” for detailed information about each question.
