Dolman Law Group Scholarship (Deadline: July 22, 2015)

Who Can Apply:

  • Must be currently attending or planning to attend a college or university during the 2015-2016 academic year.
  • Must be in good academic standing with your current educational institution
  • For applicants under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian

Submission: In order to participate in the essay contest, applicants must present 2-3 minute video essay discussing the following issue:

Texting has become one of the most popular forms of communication among young people today. The University of Michigan reports that one-quarter of all teens respond to a text message at least once every time they drive. Texting and driving is an extremely dangerous practice that caused thousands of preventable accidents and injuries each year. While many states have enacted legislation limiting texting and driving, it is still a prevalent practice among many drivers. What legal and social initiatives could lawmakers implement in order to curb texting and driving?
