- The arts hold a unique power, and music above all is a universal language capable of connecting people across every background and barrier. Too often, schools underfund music and arts education in the earliest years, leaving passionate students without the resources to pursue it further.
- This scholarship seeks to honor the memory of Dwayne Cotten by supporting students who share his love for music.
- Any BIPOC high school senior or college freshman who graduated high school or completed their GED in 2026 may apply for this scholarship opportunity if they are pursuing a major in music.
