Who Can Apply: Available to graduating senior of Oxford High School located in Oxford, Alabama are eligible to apply for the scholarship without regard to race, religion, gender, national origin, or disability. In addition, the following priorities, in the enumerated order, shall be used to evaluate applications: (1) exhibit proven academic ability by maintaining a 2.5 overall grade point average; (2) reflect strong moral character as attested by recommendations; (3) be recognized for school and community service; and, (4) show financial need.
Submission: An essay is required with the application. The applicants are asked to identify and describe in detail their most significant character trait(s) and to site examples of the/these attribute(s). The applicants should also address how the scholarship will benefit them in life based on their aspirations, educational and career goals. Also, include one extra-curricular activity or volunteer project and how it has contributed to your career goals or personal development. The applicant should conclude the statement with the main reason why the committee should award him/her the scholarship.
