Who Can Apply:
- The scholarship is limited to U.S. citizens or permanent residents who are enrolled in an accredited university in the United States.
- Must be pursuing an approved scientific or engineering curriculum in a school having, or eligible to have, a Student Section of the Society, or in the Naval Nuclear Power School, or in a similar institution approved by the Board of Directors.
- Applicants for the Hans P. Loewen scholarship must submit an essay describing their leadership qualities and, in particular, how they help others meet their goals, and their interest in supporting nuclear science and technology.
- Applicants must be ANS National Student Member unless they are incoming freshmen. Recipients must be ANS National Student Members prior to the final disbursement of funds. Incoming freshmen selected to receive the award must become ANS National Student Members once they begin their undergraduate studies and they must notify ANS Headquarters that they have joined the Society. Once ANS verifies membership status, the funds will be dispersed.
