Jack McGriff Memorial Scholarship (Deadline: October 15, 2019)

Who Can Apply: The Gainesville Housing Authority Jack McGriff Memorial Scholarship was established by the Gainesville Housing Authority Board of Commissioners in the spring of 1992. It was established to enable public housing residents an opportunity to obtain post-secondary educational training at Santa Fe College. Jack McGriff served as a member of the Santa Fe College Endowment Corporation Downtown Center Steering Committee. The center now known as the Charles L. Blount Center, provides a college facility in proximity to the downtown area, minority groups, and the residents of the Gainesville Housing Authority.


  1. Student must have 2.0 GPA
  2. Full time or part time enrollment  (12 credit hours for full time student, part time student will be prorated for the number of hours attending) 6 hours minimum
  3. Alachua County high school graduate
  4. African – American
  5. Gainesville Housing Authority Resident
  6. Program of Study – General
  7. Pursuing A.A. (Associate in Arts), A.S. (Associate in Science) degree or Certificate Program
