- Jeffrey Robert Burris was a beloved husband, son, brother, and uncle who faced many trials in life but met them with strength and resilience.
- Jeffrey experienced drug addiction but worked hard to overcome it. He was able to follow his passion for the medical field, and he earned his degree and became a registered nurse. Jeffrey’s compassion for others led him to serve as Nurse Leader, Nurse Supervisor and Charge Nurse in Wisconsin and Georgia. Jeffrey went on to become Chief Nurse of the largest stroke unit in Pinellas County Florida at the very hospital he was born in, Bradenton Memorial. While Jeffrey didn’t have significant resources, he was able to put himself through college with the help of scholarships.

- Any undergraduate student located in Wisconsin, Georgia, or Florida may apply for this scholarship opportunity if they are pursuing nursing and if they have experience overcoming addiction.
