K9 Carts 2016 Annual Scholarship (Deadline: August 31, 2016)
Who Can Apply: $1000 scholarship for students entering the field of Veterinary Medicine.
Submission: Please answer one of the following essay questions. Essays should be no more than 3 pages.
Telemedicine, the use of telecommunication and other information technology to provide health care at a distance, has started to emerge in the veterinary world. With new technology, however, comes possible legal and regulatory gray areas. What are the pros and cons of telemedicine for the veterinary industry? How do you see telemedicine technology affecting veterinarians in the future, despite legal and regulatory obstacles?
The Veterinary Medicine Loan Repayment Program encourages public health veterinarians to work in under-served areas of the country by paying off up to $25,000 annually in student loan debts. What other ways or incentives could be used to encourage vets to work in under-served areas of the country? What hurdles would your solution face?
