Who Can Apply:
Taliesin Nexus is proud to announce the Calliope Workshop and MFA Scholarships for liberty-inspired fiction and nonfiction book authors. The workshop takes place August 19-21 in New York City. And it’s all free — free tuition, free room and board, even free travel for many. We are also offering MFA scholarships for up to $3000 for aspiring authors studying for an MFA (Master of Fine Arts) degree.

This new program is a natural extension of our mission as a talent development resource for liberty-inspired storytellers. In addition to helping participants develop their storytelling abilities, the workshop will also provide insider career advice from successful writers, publishers and other industry leaders.

Our faculty consists of successful novelists, nonfiction book authors, publishers, and talent representatives. Approximately half of the workshop participants will be working in fiction and half in non-fiction. The workshop features both story development and career development, with our faculty of experienced writers and other veterans of the publishing industry offering practical advice and feedback.
Applicants should have a strong interest in writing liberty-inspired novels of nonfiction books, with an appropriate background (such as in creative writing or journalism), and are asked to submit a book proposal as part of the application process (which will be workshopped if you are selected).

Taliesin Nexus will also award five scholarships to students to help pay for study in an MFA program, in an amount of between $2000-3000 for each.

Recipients will also attend the workshop. Applicants for the MFA scholarships will have been admitted to an accredited MFA program in good standing and also demonstrate a passion for individual liberty.

Deadline: May 31, 2016

Amount: $2,000 – $3,000
