Mixbook College Scholarship (Deadline: May 29, 2016)

Who Can Apply:

  • Must be enrolled, or will be enrolled, in a full-time college or university program
  • Essays must be original work, and can not be previously published or have won awards
  • Must be suitable for publication (i.e., language, content, etc.)
  • Only one submission per applicant
  • Essays can be submitted in .dox, .docx, or .pdf format
  • Maximum 1,000 word count
  • If your historical photo is not in the public domain, you may provide a link to the photograph

Submission: Write an original essay (max. 1000 word count) that answers one of the following questions:

  1. If you could go back in time and be in any historical moment captured in a photograph, which image would you choose and why? Please include the photograph or a link to the photograph you are writing about
  2. At Mixbook, we help you tell your story by placing your photographic art in a book, a card, on a canvas, etc. Do you think it is important in our increasingly digital world to be able to continue to interact with visual and graphical art in a physical medium? Why or why not?
