Who Can Apply: For a student to be eligible for the scholarship, he or she must be a resident of Koochiching County and must plan to pursue a career in the criminal justice system. It is preferred that the recipient attend a college to obtain a four year degree. However, students entering a program that provides other training necessary in order to pursue a career in law enforcement, such as practical law enforcement skills training courses, are also eligible to apply for the scholarship. The recipient shall have exhibited a good high school academic record, with preference for a student who completes high school with a grade point average of at least 3.0.
