Who Can Apply: The Dante Ulysses Cooper Memorial Scholarship was created to provide first year engineering students of diverse backgrounds funds for purchasing books; and to memorialize the life and spirit of Dante Ulysses Cooper, 1994-2015. After graduating from the Academy for Math, Engineering and Science (AMES), he was pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering at Salt Lake Community College. True to his namesakes, he had the poetic sensitivity of Dante and the love of travel and adventure of Ulysses.
This book scholarship is for first year students who demonstrate need, are registered in an engineering program and are taking 9 credit hours or more. One scholarship will be awarded each semester. To be eligible for consideration applicants must have and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 and demonstrate financial need.
- Applicant must be pursuing an associate’s degree.
- Applicant must be an engineering major.
- Applicant must be a first-year student.
