Stroble Law College Scholarship (Deadline: August 15, 2015)

Who Can Apply: To be eligible, the applicant must either be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university or be planning to enroll for the fall 2015 semester.

Submission: To apply, applicants must write a 500-word essay on the following topic:
“According to a study conducted by the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute (VTTI), texting while driving doubled the risk of a crash or near-crash event and resulted in drivers taking their eyes off of the road for an average of 23 seconds. In response to these risks, many states have taken steps to limit or even prohibit the use of handheld devices, such as cellphone, while driving. These measures have been met with varying degrees of success. What types of legal penalties would you believe would effectively deter drivers from texting?
