Scholarship Name: Joe Nuxhall Memorial Scholarship (and Golf Open)
Description: Student athletes in Butler County, Ohio have a unique opportunity to not only win money for college, but to play golf with local athletes and celebrities! Each year, fourteen deserving students earn $2,000 each from the Fairfield Community Foundation. Funds for the scholarships are raised at the annual Joe Nuxhall Memorial Scholarship Golf Open, where the scholarship recipients are paired up for a day of golf with celebrity players. That’s a pretty good bonus for a scholarship for college!

Scholarship Name: Kurt Gostel Senior Scholarship
Description: Calling all Greater Dayton Bowlers! This local scholarship rewards some of the often-overlooked student athletes – competitive bowlers. Taking into account bowling achievement, scholastic record and community involvement, the scholarship is awarded to two graduating seniors. The award is named in honor of Kurt Gostel, a youth bowling instructor from the area who loved coaching young people and getting them excited about his favorite sport. Scholarship winners are invited to receive their awards at an annual banquet held in honor of their achievements.
