Who Can Apply: The Alfred Street Baptist Church was established in 1803. Alfred Street Baptist Church is home to the oldest and largest African American congregation in Alexandria, Va. Over the years, Alfred Street has become a leader among churches and serves as a prominent religious, educational, and cultural organization in the Northern Virginia community. With nearly 10,000 members, Alfred Street continues a legacy of worldwide leadership as it strives to Make Disciples to Win the World for Christ.
The Alfred Street Baptist Church HBCU Scholarship, administered by UNCF, will provide need-based scholarships to full-time degree-seeking students enrolled in an HBCU (Historically Black College or University) during the 2023-24 academic year.
· Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
· Complete Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) with a demonstrated unmet financial need to be verified by the intended or current institution.
· Be enrolled in a UNCF Member Institution or another accredited four-year HBCU for the 2023-24 academic year.

2. 250-500 word personal statement of career interest.
3. Current academic transcript.
4. Copy of FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR) showing the EFC.
