Who Can Apply:
- Be Black/African American or Latinx/Hispanic;
- During the upcoming 2023-2024 school year, an eligible applicant must be an entering freshman who has been accepted to and who is planning to attend any accredited UNCF Member Institution, other HBCU, or U.S. based, two or four-year college, university, or technical school;
- Possess a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or better on a 4.0 scale;
- File a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (“FAFSA”) form;
- Have a demonstrated, unmet financial need as verified by their institution
- Reside or be a permanent resident in an approved zip code of one of the following cities:
- Compton, California
- Atlanta, Georgia
- Fairburn, Georgia
- Savanna, Georgia
- Jacksonville, Florida
- Memphis, Tennessee
- Jackson, Tennessee
- Houston, Texas
Submission:
- In order to have a complete Application Package, the Student’s Recommender must complete the Recommendation / Reference Form on the UNCF Site
- Submit a current Academic transcript
- Submit a one-page personal statement responding to the following prompt, How will a college education help you to achieve your personal and professional goals?
