Who Can Apply: Applicates for the 2023-2024 Philadelphia Flyers Rising Leaders Scholarship must meet the following eligibility criteria:
· Be a permanent resident of the greater Philadelphia, PA region.
· Have demonstrated involvement in the sport of ball and/or ice hockey.
· A Black/African American.
· Possess a minimum cumulative GPA (high school or college) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
· Be enrolled as a full-time, incoming freshman at any accredited UNCF Member Institution, an HBCU or other 4-year accredited college or university or an accredited trade school in the academic year 2023-2024.
Submission:
- A letter of recommendation from a coach, faculty member, a school administrator, or a community leader who affirms the student’s participation in ball or ice hockey ;
- One page essay personal statement of career interest:
- Most recent transcript (high school or college)
