Who Can Apply: The UNCF/Turner Construction Scholarship Program was established by Turner Construction, a New York corporation with offices located in Reston, VA in partnership with the United Negro College Fund (UNCF). The UNCF/Turner Construction Scholarship Program provides renewable need-based scholarships to students from Phelps Architecture, Construction, and Engineering High School in Washington, District of Columbia who pursue a college degree in a construction industry related field.
1. Possess a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
2. Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (“FAFSA”) form.
3. Have a demonstrated, unmet financial need as verified by their college or university.
4. Be enrolled full-time at any UNCF member institution, another HBCU, an accredited four-year institution in the academic year 2023-2024.
5. Be a (i) current high school senior of Phelps Architecture, Construction, and Engineering High School in Washington, District of Columbia , or (ii) a current undergraduate student, who was a prior year graduate of Phelps Architecture, Construction, and Engineering High School in Washington, District of Columbia.
6. Have completed twenty-five (25) hours of community service annually with documentation verifying such service; and
7. Must be pursuing a college degree in a construction industry related field including management, civil engineering, or mechanical engineering.

- A personal statement of career interest essay.
- A current transcript.
- Documentation showing that the applicant was a graduate of Phelps Architecture, Construction, and Engineering High School in Washington, District of Columbia.
