Who Can Apply:
- Be an African American US citizen or US permanent resident.
- Have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
- Incoming college freshmen should enter their final high school cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- Be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate student for the 2024-2025 academic year at a US-located accredited 4-year HBCU.
- Have completed the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) for the 2024-2025 academic year, and have a demonstrated unmet financial aid need, as reported to UNCF by the applicant’s institution.
Submission:
- A 75–150 word statement describing your recent (within the last 2 years) extracurricular activities, honors and awards, and community service.
- A 300–500 word response to the following essay prompt: In terms of your future goals, in what ways will you create brighter futures for others? How do you want to make a positive impact on the lives of others in your community of choice?
- A 300–500 word response to the following essay prompt: Please share with us how receiving this scholarship will have an impact on your ability to achieve your future goals.
