Who Can Apply:
- Be an African American female US citizen or US permanent resident.
- Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
- Be enrolled full-time as a junior for the 2024-2025 academic year at any US-located accredited 4-year HBCU.
- Have participated in a service project benefitting women within the last 12 months.
- Have completed the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) for the 2024-2025 academic year, and have a demonstrated unmet financial aid need, as reported to UNCF by the applicant’s institution.
Submission:
- A current official or unofficial academic transcript.
- A 500-750 word essay discussing a service project benefitting women that you participated in during the last 12 months. Your essay must include:
- A description of the project, including date(s) and location(s).
- Your committment to community service in the health sector.
- Your desire to specialize in a medical field that impacts women’s health.
- Your focus on the health of the Black community.
- One (1) Reference Form submitted by a faculty member or community leader who supervised or participated in the above service project.
