Who Can Apply:
- Be an African American US citizen or US permanent resident.
- Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
- Be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate student for the 2024-2025 academic year at any US-located accredited 4-year institution or 2-year community college.
- Have completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2024-2025 academic year and have a demonstrated unmet financial aid need, as reported to UNCF by the applicant’s institution.
Submission:
- A current official or unofficial academic transcript.
- Rising college freshmen must submit a complete high school transcript.
- A 350-600 word response to the following essay prompt:
- Tell us about your personal and professional goals. What are your plans, hopes, and aspirations for the change you would like to make in your world and/or in your chosen field? How will this scholarship help you to meet them?
- A current headshot.
- One (1) Reference Form submitted by a non-relative.
