Who Can Apply: Anyone planning to enroll in a wood science or wood technology program at an accredited two-year or four-year technical school, college, or university in North America can apply for a WMIA scholarship. Previous winners are eligible for a second award but must reapply. Candidates must have graduated from high school or its equivalent before July 1 of the year in which they will use the scholarship.
They must have sufficient academic records to be accepted by an accredited college, university, or technical institute. Students already in college are also eligible to apply. (Please note: This scholarship is intended to be used for the Fall 2024 semester. It is not to be used for retroactive expenses. If you are not enrolled in school for Fall 2024, you are ineligible to apply for a scholarship in this cycle.)
Submission:
- A transcript of grades and credits, with the exception of the current semester. Students enrolled in college must furnish a copy of their transcripts from high school and any other collegiate institutions attended.
- A letter of intent describing your future plans related to the woodworking industry.
- A letter of recommendation from an employer or other professional with whom you have worked.
- A letter of recommendation from a teacher, professor, or education professional.
