Who Can Apply:
- Communication is one of the most powerful tools a person can develop. The ability to speak with clarity, confidence, and authenticity opens doors to leadership, opportunity, and meaningful impact in one’s community. This scholarship supports African American and Indigenous American students who want to use their voices to shape the future.
- These communities have faced generations of systemic barriers that continue to affect educational and economic access today. By focusing this scholarship specifically on African American and Indigenous American students, the goal is to help uplift and celebrate voices from groups that have been historically marginalized and underrepresented.
- Through Hearts on Sleeves Coaching, my mission is to help people communicate with confidence and authenticity. This award is one small way to invest in students whose leadership, creativity, and perspectives are essential to building a more just and inclusive world.
- Any African American or Indigenous American, low-income high school senior or undergraduate student who has at least a 3.0 GPA may apply for this scholarship.
Submission:
- To apply, describe a real moment when you used your voice or struggled to use it and how that experience shaped you. Share what happened, how you felt, what you learned about communication or confidence, and how you hope to use your voice to create impact in the future.
- Your essay should be between 500 and 1,000 words.
