Who Can Apply:
- Lane Nicholls Trueblood was a beloved son, brother, and friend who lost his life in a search for a cure for his mental illness.
- Lane tragically suffered an accidental overdose when attempting to self-medicate, seeking relief despite the inherent danger of self-medicating. He was a deeply compassionate boy who genuinely cared for others and his absence is felt by many. Lane’s story is sadly all too common, as many young people’s lives are cut short due to a lack of access to mental health treatment and support.
- This scholarship seeks to honor the memory of Lane Nicholls Trueblood by uplifting students who are devoted both to their studies and to the needs of others.
- Any high school senior at Walker Valley High School, Bradley Central High School or Cleveland High School in Tennessee who has at least a 2.5 GPA may apply for this scholarship opportunity if they will attend a community college, four-year university, or trade school and pursue a field of study involving education, psychology, medicine, mental health, or counseling.
