Who Can Apply:
- Duane and Diane Whitmire were the devoted parents of Coach Whitmire, a teacher and coach at Springfield High School.
- Duane and Diane attended as many sporting events as they could, serving as role models for athletes and parents alike and bringing a positive attitude and peppy spirit to the bleachers and sidelines. Their grandchildren played in the sports programs, and Duane and Diane never missed a game.
- This scholarship aims to honor the memories of Duane and Diane Whitmire by supporting the students they cared so much about.
- Any high school student at Springfield High School in Holland, Ohio, may apply for this scholarship opportunity, but preference will be given to students who have played at least two full academic years in the high school baseball, basketball, or soccer program, who will graduate with at least a 3.5 GPA, and/or who plan to pursue higher education at Bowling Green State University.
