Who Can Apply:
- One’s senior year of high school can come with many conflicting emotions and significant pressure from parents, society, and oneself.
- Between figuring out one’s plans for higher education and the job market, to navigating college applications and beyond, there are many decisions that have to be made. On top of these responsibilities, there is the emotional toll of preparing to leave home and one’s loved ones for a new environment. The financial burdens of college can often be the most overwhelming consideration of all.
- This scholarship aims to honor the 1979 graduating class of Aiken High School (listed as “Aiken New Tech High School” or “Aiken College and Career High School”) by supporting the next generation of Falcons as they pursue higher education in college or trade school.
- Any high school senior at Aiken High School in Ohio may apply for this scholarship opportunity. However, African American applicants with at least a 2.3 GPA are preferred. Please note that the winner must show proof of acceptance in college or trade school to receive the award.
Submission: To apply, tell us what Falcon Pride mean to you and why Falcon Pride is important to have even after graduation. Additionally, submit two letters of recommendation.
