Who Can Apply:
- Pursuing a second career can feel daunting and overwhelming, with many people struggling to decide whether or not to return to school.
- Pivoting career paths can be incredibly fulfilling, offering students the opportunity to discover new passions and pursue them later in life. Unfortunately, it can be particularly difficult for second-career students to find the funding they need to enroll in and complete their degrees, leaving many feeling stranded in their original positions.
- This scholarship aims to support economically disadvantaged students who are going back to school for nursing.
- Any Black/African American student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in nursing who is at least twenty-one years old and may apply for this scholarship opportunity if they already have a bachelor’s degree and if they demonstrate financial need. Applicants must be resilient, proactive, confident, and resourceful.
Submission:
- To apply, submit a three-to five-minute video essay giving an introduction to yourself and explaining what challenges you have faced that made you want to pursue nursing.
- Submit a link to your video as a public YouTube link or a Google Drive link. Settings should be set to “public” or “anyone with the link can view.” If we can’t access your video, your application won’t be considered.
