Who Can Apply:
- Developed in partnership with UNCF, the UBS Scholarship will provide need-based scholarships of up to $5,000 to rising college sophomores enrolled full-time for the 2026-2027 academic year at one of the North Carolina HBCUs listed below.
- Applicants must be officially enrolled as college sophomores for the 2026-2027 school year — this scholarship opportunity is not open to current high school seniors. Applicants must possess a minimum 3.25 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Must have filed the 2026-2027 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and have a demonstrated unmet financial aid need, as verified to UNCF by the applicant’s institution. Applicants must demonstrate an interest or major in business, finance, or technology through their essay, resume, transcript, or recent (within the last 2 years) leadership and community service activities.
- Awards will be disbursed in the 2026-2027 academic year and may be renewed in the junior and senior years for recipients who qualify. Award recipient contact information will be shared with the scholarship Grantor.
Submission:
- An official or unofficial current academic transcript.
- A current resume.
- A one-page essay response to: Pick an experience from your own life and explain how it has influenced your interest in business, finance, or technology. How does this experience inform the kind of professional you hope to become, and the type of organization you would like to contribute to in the future?
