Who Can Apply:
- Upon graduating high school, less than 2% of teen mothers obtain a college degree. In fact, only 40% of teen mothers even finish high school, a stark contrast between female students who did not experience teen motherhood.
- Pursuing a higher education can result in many benefits, both academically and socially. It opens doors for more opportunities that can help sustain a lucrative career. Unfortunately, attending college can be quite overwhelming and financially discouraging for teen mothers.
- As a way to lower that statistic and support young mothers towards a positive future, this scholarship will support high school seniors and undergraduates who are teen mothers and/or children of teen mothers.
