Who Can Apply:
- Ambrose “The Legend” Stevens dedicated his life to helping others. He received his Associates Degree in Emergency Medicine and became a paramedic through Ventura College’s Paramedic Studies Program. Ambrose served most of his 20 year career in emergency services as a paramedic for American Medical Response ambulance company in Ventura County. In his final years, he served Sonoma and Shasta Counties as Operations Manager. Ambrose’s greatest passion was serving others. He deployed with FEMA for many different disasters over the years; as well as with Pure Works to provide medical services in Burundi Africa, Haiti, and with his wife Amber in Nepal.
- Ambrose’s commitment to helping others was not only evident in his career but also in the way he cared for his family. As a devoted husband and father, he always strived to provide a stable and loving home for his wife and children, drawing on his own experiences growing up with a single mother. He understood firsthand the challenges that come with financial hardship, and he wanted to ensure that his legacy would support those in similar circumstances. Through this memorial scholarship, his family hopes to carry forward his spirit of generosity, providing opportunities for the underprivileged to achieve their dreams of becoming paramedics and making a lasting impact in their communities.
- Any undergraduate student attending Ventura College in California and studying to become a paramedic may apply for this scholarship opportunity, particularly if they’re a minority student who was raised by or is a single single parent or from an impoverished background.
