Who Can Apply:
- Brandon Tyler Castinado made a significant impact on every life that he touched in his short 30 years on earth. He was a celebrated soldier, having ranked as 1st Lieutenant with the Army, and served his country proudly when he was called upon to do so. He continued his mission to help others as a Registered Nurse in the Surgical ICU at University of Utah.
- Brandon was loved and celebrated as a son, brother, and friend to so many. Brandon’s smile and kind words carried those that he loved far, and he only ever aimed to make the people he cared for and about feeling better.
- Tragically at age 30, Brandon took his own life after a hard-fought battle with depression. The Brandon Tyler Castinado Memorial Scholarship aims to honor and celebrate his life by supporting college students pursuing post-secondary education.
- Undergraduate and graduate students seeking a degree in all nursing fields may apply. Military professionals and LGTBQIA+ members are especially encouraged to apply.
