Who Can Apply: The C.L. Smith Scholarship Fund was established to honor Lieutenant Colonel Clarence L. Smith USMC (Ret.). Lt. Col. Smith was the first instructor of the Marine Corps Junior ROTC program at Fern Creek High School in Louisville, Kentucky. He was instrumental in building the program from its founding to a national accredited unit. In doing so, he established a standard based upon the principals of loyalty, integrity, and discipline.
- Applicant must be a member of the Junior Marine Corps JROTC.
- Applicant must be graduating from Fern Creek High School.
- Applicant must be a Graduating High School Senior.
- Applicant must demonstrate financial need.
