Who Can Apply:
- Carolyn Hillis was a lover of music and travel. She was an educator for many years. Carolyn believed that music is a universal language.
- In her free time, she loved taking her granddaughter to the opera and the theatre to share her love for music. Carolyn believed that everyone should be encouraged to pursue music because it’s an emotional outlet and puts instruments into the hands of young people instead of guns or drugs.
- This scholarship aims to honor the memory of Carolyn Hillis and continue her legacy by supporting low-income high school students who are pursuing music.
- Any high school student who plans to learn an instrument or pursue a music degree may apply for this scholarship if they’re low-income, from a single-parent home, and/or in an underfunded school district.
