- Gifted athletically from a young age, Chris excelled in a range of sports from basketball and track to baseball and football. He was distinguished not only by talent, but by leadership and determination. Those qualities ultimately carried him to Indiana University, where he proudly represented the Hoosiers as a wide receiver and special teams player from 1988 to 1991.
- Chris graduated from Indiana University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science and went on to earn a master’s degree in American Government from The Catholic University of America in 1996. His professional life was diverse and impactful, spanning public service as an advisor to multiple U.S. Representatives in Washington, D.C., a marketing role with a Fortune 500 company, and ultimately a career devoted to helping small businesses thrive. As a business owner and trusted advisor, Chris worked alongside entrepreneurs to develop strategic marketing, advertising, and communication solutions, helping them remain competitive and successful.
- Beyond athletics and professional accomplishment, Chris was defined by his character. His infectious smile and magnetic personality drew people to him, making leadership feel natural rather than imposed. He inspired trust, loyalty, and friendship wherever he went.
- Above all, Chris was a devoted father, son, and brother—generous with his time, his attention, his good fortune, and most of all, his heart. In honor of his life and enduring generosity, his family proudly offers this scholarship in his name to students pursuing a four-year degree at Indiana University who aspire to make a meaningful impact in their communities. This scholarship reflects Chris’s deep belief in opportunity, hard work, and the importance of lifting others as they strive to reach their full potential and realize their dreams.
