Who Can Apply:
- Coal mining has powered America for generations, and now the daughters of that tradition deserve the opportunity to lead the next chapter, whether in engineering, technology, environmental science, healthcare, or any STEM field.
- Talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not. Investing in these students will redefine the future and provide critical access to the opportunities young women need to succeed.
- This scholarship aims to support women from coal mining families who are choosing to build the future through STEM.
- Any female four-year undergraduate student who is a first-generation college student pursuing a STEM field may apply for this scholarship opportunity if they have a parent or guardian with work experience in coal mining (underground or surface extraction) and if they’re from a coal-producing region in the United States, such as Appalachia, Powder River Basin, Illinois Basin, or elsewhere. Applicants must demonstrate resilience, determination, and a desire to use their education to make a difference.
Submission: To apply, tell us how growing up in a coal mining family has shaped your perspective and interest in STEM, and how you plan to use our education to make an impact.
