Who Can Apply:
- David (DK) Kim was one of a kind! He had such a passion for life and sports. He made everyone feel like they were family. People could feel the warmth he radiated, even if it was their first time meeting him.
- He affected so many people positively, and there are no words to convey how amazing he truly was. On November 1st, 2021, the Davis, CA community suddenly lost a dear friend, David (DK) Kim, due to complications from a heart condition. DK was a staple to the Davis community; he was a member of Woodstock’s Pizza Davis family for nearly 20 years, a UC Davis graduate with a degree in English, and a proud Sammie (Sigma Alpha Mu).
- DK poured his soul into UC Davis athletics, broadcasting and supporting various sporting events such as football, basketball, softball, women’s lacrosse, and more. Additionally, he worked on a sports radio show at KDVS and co-hosted on KDRT.
- The community that loved DK aims to honor DK by supporting undergraduate and graduate students pursuing Sports Broadcasting or Sports Journalism.
- Any undergraduate or graduate students studying Sports Broadcasting or Sports Journalism with a financial need may apply.
