Who Can Apply:
- The Dohn J. Theobald Scholarship was established in 2020. Dohn was born on a farm near Ohiowa, Nebraska on January 18, 1931. In 1937 the family moved to a farm near Geneva and Dohn attended District 13 country school though the eighth grade and then graduated from Geneva High School. Benefiting from a Regents Scholarship he graduated with a degree in Business Administration at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. To supplement his income during that time he worked part-time at the O’shea-Rogers Tractor and Equipment Co. which was the regional distributor for Ford tractors and equipment. After graduating, Dohn was employed by the Addressograph-Multigraph Corporation, his work home for forty years. There he held several positions including: Technician, Office Manager, Customer Relations Representative, Salesman, and Account Executive. As a salesman he earned 19 Hundred Clubs, the Company’s highest award. Dohn feels that his greatest accomplishment has been the establishment of the Dohn J. Theobald Scholarship through the Lincoln Community Foundation. Dohn understands and truly appreciates the value of scholarships for students seeking higher education.
- To be eligible you must be a graduating senior or former graduate from a public or private high school in Nebraska with preference given to graduates of Fillmore Central High School in Nebraska. You must have maintained a high school or college GPA of 3.0 or above and plan to be enrolled full-time at a college or university in Nebraska. Recipients must pledge to abstain from using tobacco or any illegal drugs. Applicants’ character, desire to learn, and diligence/work ethic will be considered.
