Who Can Apply: The Dr. Alan J. Dessen, MD Memorial Scholarship Fund, is a scholarship memorial fund for Dr. Alan J. Dessen, who served as a staff member of Maryvale Hospital Medical Center (now Abrazo Maryvale Campus) for 38 years, serving as Chief of Medicine and on the Medical Executive Board for over 13 years. He was board certified in both Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease.
– Graduating senior in high school attending Maryvale High School, Carl Hayden High School, Western School of Science and Technology, or Trevor Browne High School
– Applicants should have a desire to pursue a career in medicine (nursing, dentistry, physical therapy, physician’s assistant, or nurse practitioner) and work in an under served community
