- Dr. Edward V. Chavez was a beloved father who passed away in August 10, 2021 due to complications from COVID-19.
- Edward was an avid athlete who played football and baseball and went to college on a wrestling scholarship. Ed was also a runner and completed several marathons throughout his life. Edward left behind a legacy of athletic excellence in his two sons who now play hockey, baseball, and basketball.
- This scholarship aims to honor the legacy of Dr. Edward V. Chavez by supporting students who have lost a parent and are passionate about sports.
- Any high school student who has lost one or both parents and has a passion for sports may apply for this scholarship.
