Gladys Frick Weaver Scholarship (Deadline: August 31, 2023)

• The student must have completed six (6) semesters of coursework at MU.
• The student must demonstrate basic nursing knowledge by achieving a minimum of a B grade point average in his/her nursing courses.
• The student must demonstrate an interest and competence in bedside nursing by delivering nursing care at an exceptional level based on needs irrespective of individual patient’s personal characteristics or diagnosis.
• The student must demonstrate competence in bedside nursing by exhibiting outstanding expertise in nursing skills and the technical aspects of nursing care.
• The student must demonstrate an attitude of caring and compassion as evidenced by supportive and empathetic interactions with patients and their families.
• The student must demonstrate acceptance of all patients by safeguarding their rights and confidentiality.
• The student must treat all others (patients, their families, staff, faculty, and other students) with respect.
• The student must present themselves in a manner that promotes a positive image of nursing.
• The student should encourage excellence in bedside nursing in the other members of the health care team by example and direction.
