Who Can Apply:
- Gwendolyn G. Smith was an incredible loved one who passed away in the fall of 2024 after a battle with kidney cancer.
- Gwendolyn was a blessing to many and served her country in the Air Force for thirty years. She was an active member of her church. All of the medical professionals who worked with Gwendolyn during her health struggles made an impact and eased the pain of her illness and her passing.
- This scholarship aims to honor the memory of Gwendolyn G. Smith and keep her legacy alive by supporting students who have big dreams of working in a healthcare profession.
- Any high school senior at a Suffolk, Virginia, public school (Nansemond River High School, Lakeland High School, or King’s Fork High School) may apply for this scholarship opportunity if they have at least a 2.5 GPA and if they plan to pursue healthcare.
