Who Can Apply:
- Black boys in STEM face outsized hardship in pursuing their dreams, often encountering isolation, discrimination, or financial inaccessibility.
- Black Americans are underrepresented in STEM, especially in fields such as engineering. The racial wealth gap and the effect it has on public school resources result in many students of color not receiving the early exposure to STEM that their peers may benefit from. With limited Black mentors to seek advice or help from, it can be difficult to begin one’s career, and students often have to make sacrifices and concessions to attain professional success.
- This scholarship aims to uplift young Black men as they pursue higher education and forge their path in STEM.
- Any Black male high school senior with at least a 3.0 GPA may apply for this scholarship opportunity if they have an interest in pursuing a STEM field and if they have a profile photo.
