Who Can Apply:
- Haiti, whose population is almost entirely descended from African slaves, won independence from France in 1804. Over the centuries, however, economic, political, and social difficulties as well as a number of natural disasters have beset Haiti with chronic poverty and other serious problems.
- Although Haitian immigrants account for less than 2 percent of the U.S. foreign-born population, the U.S. has the largest Haitian migrant population in the world Additionally, the numbers of Haitian immigrants increased by 17 percent from 2010 to 2018. For Haitian college students, it can be difficult to fund their education, so it is crucial that they get the support they need.
- To help Haitian students, we created this scholarship to give $2,500 to one student each year who has migrated from Haiti or whose parents have migrated from Haiti pursuing a degree and shows Christlike qualities in their community.
- To apply, you must be a high school or undergraduate Haitian student with a 3.0 GPA or higher and who identifies as Christian.
